Sandra Huffman Ritenour

Sandra Huffman Ritenour, 82, of Rockingham, Virginia, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025.
Mrs. Ritenour was born on March 17, 1943, in Harrisonburg and was the daughter of the late Elmer Lee and Madeline Oella Eavey Huffman.
Sandy graduated from Turner Ashby High School and attended Blue Ridge Community College. She previously owned and operated Sandy's Needlecraft for 12 years, but mostly considered herself a homemaker. Sandy was a member of St. James United Methodist Church. Sandy greatly enjoyed traveling and took a total of fourteen cruises throughout her life.
On March 11, 1960, she married Jon Dunn Ritenour, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 65 years, are two daughters, Angela Barnett of Harrisonburg and LaVonne Williams (Jerry) of Middlebourne, West Virginia; a son, Chris Ritenour (Eva) of Harrisonburg; sister, Shelby McDorman of Bridgewater; brother, Vernon Huffman (Judy) of Harrisonburg; grandchildren, Daniel Barnett (Molly), Sam Barnett (DeEbra Carr), Michelle Williams, Justin Williams, Mekayla Shifflett (Dustin), and Sarah Ritenour (Garrett Samuels); great-grandchild, Easton Shifflett, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Dawn Ritenour.
A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg with Pastor Mike Puffenbarger and Pastor Cindy Carr officiating. Interment will take place 2 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2025, at Mount Sinai United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Kyger Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made in Sandy's name to Harrisonburg Rescue Squad or Hose Company No. 4.
