Sandra “Sandy” M. Grabko, age 62, passed away peacefully at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau on Saturday, September 6, 2025. Born on September 3, 1963. Sandy was known for her kindness, generosity, and love of her family.
Celebration of Life will be from 1- 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Brainard Funeral Home in Weston.
Sandra grew up in Wausau and graduated from D.C. Everest High School in 1982. Following her graduation, Sandy attended State Collage of Beauty Culture earning her professional certification. She worked in the Cosmetology field for many years. Sandy was united in marriage to Daniel “Dan” Grabko on April 12, 1986. They exchanged their vows at St. Florians Church in Hatley. She became the youth Administrator at St. Therese School and then became the Director of Education at St. Matthews Catholic Church until her retirement. Sandy was known for her passion in working with the youth and dedicated several years of her life in helping the success of the Boys and Girls Club of the D.C Everest School District.
Sandy enjoyed boating, camping, traveling, spending time with her family, and “snow birding it”. She specifically enjoyed going to Myrtle Beach and her personal favorite Gulf Shores Alabama. She and her husband Dan created many lasting memories during vacation. She loved to host parties and entertain people, especially during the infamous 4th of July bash where many memories were created. Sandy had the uncanny ability to relate to anyone she encountered. She was not afraid to converse with strangers and develop friendships quickly. Sandy was always accepting others. It did not matter what their background was or where they came from.
Sandy is survived by her husband of almost 40 years, Dan Grabko of Weston; son, Josh (Holly) Grabko of Weston, mother, Diane Myska of Weston and siblings, Kevin Jerome Myska of Weston, and Denise Howland (Roger Thompson) of Weston. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Dahlia Grabko and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Jerome Myska.
