Sandra "Sandy" R. Matis (nee Novak), age 80, late of Mokena, IL, passed away January 17, 2026. Devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Parishioner of St. Mary Church in Mokena, IL. Sandy enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, and traveling. Most of all she loved spending time with family and friends, especially with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
Beloved wife of Daniel J. Matis for 59 years. Loving mother of Laurel (Jay) Joss and Amanda (Brian) Morris. Cherished grandmother of Alex, Tyler, Ashleigh, and Nicole. Dear daughter of the late John and late Margart Novak.
Visitation, Sunday, January 25, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 19604 S. Wolf Rd. Mokena, Il 60448. Prayers at the Funeral Home, Monday, January 26, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to St. Mary Church for 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
