Sandra Satz

Sandra (Sandy) Rae Satz, (Kahan)
Age 81 of Minneapolis, MN passed away on May 17, 2025 after a long struggle with vascular dementia. She was born on June 18, 1943 in St. Paul, MN. She graduated from Central High School in St. Paul in 1961 and from the University of MN in 1964 with a degree in Elementary Education. In 1965 she married Mark Satz in St. Paul, MN. She worked as an elementary school teacher in her first years of marriage and then at Beth El Synagogue preschool while her children were young. Later in life she worked as the docent tour coordinator for the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Sandy was a devoted mother and grandmother and helped to care for her five grandchildren. She enjoyed skiing with her family, playing tennis, golf and mahjong and participating in her book club. She loved watching the wild turkeys, deer and birds at her townhouse in Minnetonka. Sandy was also a proud Minute Maid at St. Paul Central High School and stayed close with her friends and teachers from Ramsey Elementary throughout her entire life. Sandy is survived by her daughters, Stephanie (Jeremy) Alden and Michele (Seth) Meisler; grandchildren, Ilana, Nathaniel, Ethan, Celeste and Abby; ex-husband, Mark Satz (Gail Bender Satz); cousins, Susan and Bruce Hammer; and many extended family members and friends. We want to thank the amazing and compassionate staff at the English Rose Gleason Knoll home, Ramona, Kayla and all the loving care givers who helped take care of her as well as Park Nicollet Hospice staff. Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Abe and Esther Kahan; and brother Hillard Kahan.
