Sandra L. Serrentino, age 84, a long-time Wakefield resident passed away peacefully on January 24 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
She was born on March 20, 1940 and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Ethel Rolfe. She was the beloved wife of the late Pasquale “Pat” Serrentino, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of the late Vincent, Lynne, and Dana Serrentino. She is survived by her cherished grandson, Jesse Malonson and his girlfriend Rachel Domenici of Wakefield.
Sandy was raised in Stoneham and enjoyed time spent on her grandfather’s farm which gave way to her love of animals. In her youth, she had worked as a waitress and hairdresser before marrying and starting her family. Together with her husband she helped to build the family business. Sandy had a passion for crafts, painting and travel. She enjoyed winters in Aruba with Pat for 25 years and various destinations with her dear aunt Grace, "the sister she never had."
Her Funeral Service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday, February 1 at 12pm. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 11am. Interment, Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.
