Sandra Thurston

GILFORD ---- Sandra "Sandie" Mae Thurston, 75, of High View Circle, passed away after many years battling Parkinson's Disease and Lewy Body Dementia, on Friday, May 23, 2025, at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Sandie was born on September 6, 1949, in Melrose, MA, the daughter of the late Kenneth D. Crumrine and June T. (Anderson) Crumrine.
Sandie enjoyed her great kids, her family's camp on Merrymeeting Lake (where she met Don), flower gardens, skiing, hiking or just taking a walk. She and Don were members of the Winter Harbor Yacht Club on Welch Island for many years. One favorite thing to do was enjoying a boat ride including a great lunch at Joe Green's in Wolfeboro.
Sandie was never a person to call anyone's attention to herself. If she was your friend, you had a good one!
Sandie worked for many years at the Sundial Shop in Laconia. Later years she worked at Kellerhaus in Weirs Beach.
Sandie is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Donald J. Thurston; sons Christopher J. Thurston (Heather), of Thornton, NH, and Ryan E. Thurston (Tabitha), of Gilford, NH; daughter Kimberly A. (Thurston) Boyarsky, of Huntington, VT; sisters Nancy Tenney, of Ossipee, NH, and Lori Coddaire, of Chelmsford, MA; grandchildren Ian Boyarsky, Caitlyn Boyarsky, Adam Boyarsky, and Jyllian Thurston; and four nieces and six nephews.
Per Sandie's wishes, there will be no services.
Her family wants to recognize the wonderful nurses and aides from Granite VNA Hospice Care who made the last weeks of her life comfortable and peaceful.
