Born on January 29, 1947 in Binghamton, NY, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Dorothy (Nelson) Sterling. After high school, Sandra attended Corning Community College where she earned her Associates Degree. She worked as a Registered Nurse for Corning Hospital before her retirement.
Sandra will be remembered as a woman of faith and was a devoted Christian. She loved seeing the natural beauty of the water - specifically the ocean. In her free time she enjoyed tending to her vegetable gardens and spending time with her numerous dogs over the years.
Sandra is survived by her children: Shaun Keeney of Boynton Beach, FL, Shannon Keeney of Corning, NY, Sheila Keeney of Bath, NY, Stacy (JR) Besley of Beaver Dams, NY; and several grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Hope Cemetery, Park Ave., Corning, Pastor Joe Chamberlin officiating. Phillips Funeral Home, 17, W. Pulteney St. Corning has been entrusted with Sandra's care.
