Louisville: Sandra J. Valade, age 81, passed away Monday, Oct. 13, 2025, at North Country Nursing Facility, with her family by her side. There will be no calling hours or funeral services. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the American Legion in Massena. Phillips Memorial Home in Massena will be handling the arrangements for Sandy.
Born on May 8, 1944, in Aultsville, Ontario Canada to Rex and Jean (VanAllen) Robertson. On May 25, 1963, she married Francis Valade in Massena. Sandy was employed as a bus driver for Massena Central School District for 32 years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Francis, her daughters; Debbie and Scott Mariano of Sebring, FL; Sherri Valade of Massena. Her grandchild, Jake Dumas and Deanna Buckshot-Thompson of Massena, great-grandchildren, Rian and Kolson Dumas. Step-grandsons Ethan and Jenn Mariano, Dan Mariano both of Massena, Nicholas Mariano and Krista Flint of Moira, NY. Step great-grandson Buck Mariano. Her siblings, Ray Robertson of Norfolk, NY; Donald and Meta Robertson of Cambridge, Ontario, Kevin and Pam Robertson of Lunenburg, Ont. Cheryl and Bud Hammond of New Brunswick, Canada Lynn Robertson and Rene Alpine of Long Sault, Ont. Terry and Bernadine Robertson of Cornwall, Ont., and Susan Robertson of Cornwall, Ont. Her sister in-laws, Laura Valade, Loyola Valade, and Doreen Valade, a brother in-law, Lawrence Valade. Many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Sandy was predeceased by her granddaughter, Tricia Dumas, her brother in-laws, Lomer, Roger and Pete Valade and a sister in-law, Marie Allan.
