Sandra Vitkus Obituary
Sandra Louise (Russell) Vitkus, 75, of Newburyport, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 17, 2024, in Kissimmee, Florida. She was born on August 16, 1948.
Sandy spent most of her life in Connecticut and recently moved to Florida with her daughter, son-in-law and grandson. It didn't matter where she lived, her warmth and caring nature left smiles and joy wherever she went.
Sandy was known for her loving and outgoing personality, and her ability to easily make friends. She was a generous and kind individual who touched the lives of many.
She is survived by her son Richard Vitkus, Jr., her daughter and son-in-law Cindy and David Shaw, her grandsons Daniel Shaw and Avery Vitkus, and siblings Linda Dumond, Eleanor Russell, Michael Russell Sr. and his wife Debra, and Kathy-Jo Plourde and her husband Paul. Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Malcolm Gardiner Russell Sr., her mother, Christine (Baldwin) Russell, her grandmother Bessie (Hadley) Russell, and siblings Christine Lemus, Beverly Libby, and Malcolm Russell Jr.
Sandy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, doing crafts, playing computer games and Bingo, and watching her favorite soap opera, "Days of Our Lives." She was also an avid Disney fan and enjoyed going to the Disney Parks and on Disney cruises with her family.
The family has entrusted the arrangements to Gilley's Family Cremation in Winter Haven, Florida.
May Sandra Louise (Russell) Vitkus rest in peace, and may her memory live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She is God's Angel now.
