Sandra Weatherspoon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, Sandusky Chapel on Mar. 3, 2026.
Sandra "Sandy" Weatherspoon, a remarkable soul who filled every room with laughter, love, and the sort of optimism that could light up the darkest of days, set off on her ultimate adventure, leaving the confines of earth behind on February 27, 2026.

Sandy was born in Sandusky November 12, 1958 and went to be with our Lord at the age of 67 in Bellevue. Her vibrant spirit dances on.

A proud mother first and foremost, Sandy leaves behind a legacy of love in her children: Nicholas Strause (Savannah), Olivia Smith (Colin), and Zachary Strause (Yolanda). Her grandkids, Ivy, Rayne, Raziah, Emberlee, Abrielle, Mayliana, Cowen, Skylynn, and Izabella, were the light of Sandy's everyday existence. They were her pride and joy, and in them, her zest for life will continue to thrive. She was also big sister to Timothy Strause (Suzie), Thomas Strause (Lori), and Alan Strause (Andrea).

She was proceeded in death by her beloved mother and best friend, Judy Strause.

Sandy's Christian faith was the backdrop to her life's symphony. She would often say, rightly quoting Dolly Parton, "The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain." With a heart as open and vast as hers, she made sure to share her love for Jesus in the same breath as a chuckle or a beaming smile.

A woman of simple pleasures, Sandy relished in the pages of a good book, the thrill of the open road on her beloved trike, and the immeasurable joy of discussing Jesus with anyone willing to lend an ear. Playing with her grandkids was not just a pastime; it was a master class in what it meant to be eternally young at heart.

Let's not say goodbye to this extraordinary woman. Rather, let's say, "Until next time." For with every chuckle shared in her memory, Sandy Weatherspoon's spirit will continue to ride on, as full of mirth and as ever-loving as she was in life.

Per Sandy's request, cremation has taken place. Friends and family may gather from 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2026 until memorial services begin at 12 p.m. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Condolences may be shared online at toftfuneralhome.com.
