Sandra Williams Obituary

Sandra Sue Williams, age 76, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

Cherished daughter of the late Cecil Paul and Olive Jean (nee Vernon) Williams; beloved sister of Jeannine Kovach (Bob), Tom Williams, and Roberta Huckby; devoted aunt of Shelley Fleming, Rob Kovach (deceased) (Nikki), Robin Canty (Jay), Holly Kovach, Jennifer Williams, Ben Williams (Janie), and Lindsey Williams; and loving great-aunt to many.

Sandy spent her life in service to others! She earned a master's degree in education and spent her career teaching 5th grade for the Parma City Schools, retiring after 30+ years.

Her deep Christian faith was yet another way she served others. She constantly interceded for others as a "prayer warrior" and she took every opportunity to evangelize and bring souls to Christ. She nurtured her faith as part of the community at Parma Baptist Church, where she taught 5th/6th grade Sunday school and really taught them how to serve others and love Christ. Sandy lead a Bible study for a group of ladies for many years in her home, they called themselves "Soul Sisters." She also had a deep commitment to missionary work. In addition to offering organizational and financial support, she hosted missionaries in her home, nurtured a desire for mission work in teenagers and went on mission trips herself.

Sandy also loved music and was gifted at playing the piano and singing, happily adding her talents to worship services at church.

During the last several challenging years, when she was no longer able to go out and enjoy the things she had once enjoyed, she found contentment watching the birds from the windows in her home with her faithful dog, Lizzie, never far from her side. She loved the beauty of flowers as well, especially dahlias.

While Sandy could be ornery and even a bit cantankerous, her loving and compassionate nature, as well as her deep faith, are the traits that will be remembered most by those whose lives she touched. Her fervent desire to spread the love of Christ to everyone was the deepest longing of her heart and she did that every day in both word and action in serving others.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to support the missionary work at Pleasant Valley Church, 2193 W Pleasant Valley Rd., Parma, OH 44129 or online at https://www.joinusatpvc.org/give.

Visitation will be Monday, March 2, 2026, from 9:30 am to 10:00 am at Pleasant Valley Church, with a service at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Woodvale Cemetery, Middleburg Heights.
