Sandra (Sandy) L. Clute, age 79, a resident of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, and formerly of Dixon, New Mexico, passed away on October 17, 2025.

Sandy was born in Embudo, New Mexico on April 2, 1946. She spent her childhood in Dixon and graduated from Northern New Mexico College in El Rito in 1964. Her independence and adventurous spirit led her to pursue career opportunities in Los Angeles and Denver. Sandy met and married her husband Verle while in Denver. They later relocated to Santa Fe to raise their children and both subsequently accepted positions at Los Alamos National Laboratory. The need to be closer to family ultimately prompted her return to Dixon. Following her retirement from Los Alamos National Laboratory, Sandy and her husband moved to Rio Rancho.

Sandy was a kind, outgoing person who made others feel welcome. She will be remembered for her devotion to family and many hobbies including gardening, baking, camping, fishing and traveling. Sandy's compassion and generous nature will be remembered by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents Joe Avelino and Mary Gonzales, husband, Verle Clute, son, DeWayne Clute, brother, Joe Gilbert Gonzales, niece, Debra (Debby) Beilhartz, and great nephew, Matthew Beilhartz.

She is survived by her daughter, Johnell (Jerome) Lujan; her sisters, Olivia (Walt) Petrowski, and Dolores (Richard) Romero; her grandchildren, Benjamin, Joseph, Nathaneal, Jordan and Janae; her nephews and niece, Ryan (Pia )Romero, Richard (Victoria) Romero, and Marquita (John) Apodaca; her great nephews and nieces, Juan, Mark, Joel, Violet, Asher and Elyse.

Appreciation is extended to Carla, Lorraine, Doreen, and Erna for their steadfast support throughout both challenging and joyful times. May she rest in peace.

A rosary will be recited on ________________, at Riverside Funeral Home located on 225 San Mateo Bldv NE Albuquerque, NM at ______. Burial to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
