Sandy L. Kuhn, 73, of Vermilion, died on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Mercy Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
Born on June 2, 1950, in Boone County, WV, Sandy embraced Vermilion as his home for the 40 years. A dedicated and hardworking individual, he spent 31 years as an Assembler at Ford Motor Company, retiring in 1998. His commitment to his craft was a testament to his unwavering work ethic.
Beyond his professional life, Sandy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. An avid outdoorsman, he relished moments spent hunting, camping and fishing with his sons and grandchildren, reveling in the beauty of nature. He enjoyed scratching lottery tickets, savoring the thrill of possibility. His heart held a special place for his canine companions, Pup-pup and Trixie, who brought immeasurable comfort and companionship.
Sandy is survived by his sons, Norman Kuhn of Vermilion and Wesley Kuhn of Vermilion; step-daughter, Tricia Stewart of Vermilion; grandchildren, Tristan and Cole Groene, Cody and Chandler Kuhn, Jessica Eager, and Jennifer Kuhn; great-grandchildren, Ellie Kuhn, Levi Groene, Gunner Miller, Viviyan Eager, and one on the way. He is also survived by his sisters, Bobbi (Bob) Deweese and Phyllis (Stephen) Conrad.
Preceding him in death were his beloved wife, Patricia Kuhn in 2021; parents, Norman and Imagene (nee McClure) Kuhn; and his brother, Nolan Kuhn.
A graveside service to celebrate Sandy's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 5, 2024, at Ridgehill Memorial Park, Amherst.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to the Friendship Animal Protective League of Lorain County, Inc. at 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, OH 44035, in honor of Sandy's deep affection for his dogs.
