Sandy Lee Meyers

Sandy Lee Meyers of Oakridge, formerly of Coos Bay & North Bend died July 4, of natural causes. He was 65.

Sandy was born June 8, 1960, in North Bend, Oregon to Guy and Arzella (Jones) Meyers. Sandy graduated from Marshfield High School in 1978.

In June of 2005, Sandy met the love of his life Lisa Clark. They were married January 1, 2008, in Coos Bay, Oregon.

Sandy started his working career at the Drive In, then moved on to working at the mill. In 1988, Sandy got in as a casual longshoreman. When he was not long-shoring he worked jobs at mine shutdowns as a lead burner and at Devil'sFork Pallets. When he wasn't doing either one of those, he was a Commercial Mushroom Picker.

In 2019, Sandy became a union worker for the International Longshoreman & Warehouse Workers Union. Sandy retired July 1, 2025, after 37 years working for the ILWU.

Some of Sandy's interest included gem rock hounding, gold prospecting, adventures in the woods, gardening and antiquing. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, crabbing and clamming.

Sandy is survived by his loving wife, Lisa of Oakridge, his father, Guy Meyers of North Bend, Sister & brother-in-law Susan & Ed Phillips of Coos Bay, sister, Shanda Meyers of North Bend, and half brother Colin Ball of Salem. He is preceded in death by his mother Arzella.
