Velma LaVern Beasley
1926 - 2025
Our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend died Wednesday, October 8, 2025, in Oakridge, Oregon at the age of 99. She was born September 8, 1926, in Phoenix, Arizona to James Pleasant Ivy and Mary Ella Young. She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and a brother, her husband, Dick Beasley, and her son, Paul Nordin.
LaVern was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She spent her life devoted to God and was happiest when she was serving God and serving others. She loved the members of the Oakridge Branch of the church.
She married Alvin Richard, "Dick" Beasley on October 30, 1976, in the Los Angeles Temple. They moved to Oakridge in 1980 and owned Oakridge Insurance Agency for many years. She loved helping people with their insurance needs, especially during times of crises in their lives.
She is survived by 2 sons, Steven Bentley and Rick Beasley, a daughter-in-law, Linda Nordin, 9 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Oakridge, Oregon on October 18, 2025, and she was buried in Forestvale Memorial Cemetery in Oakridge beside her beloved husband Dick.

My aunt always had a smile on her face and was willing to tell you a family story. She liked talking to you face to face even if it was FaceTimeing. She is with a lot of love ones now. Debbie Fassel ( niece)
