Sanford Sisson, 90, of Resaca, Georgia, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025. He was born on January 13, 1935, to the late Rufus Cline “Doc” and Rose Sisson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife who he would’ve been married to for 66 years, Mary Jean Sisson.
Sanford served in the United States Army National guard for 22 years. He retired from the United States Postal Service after 34 years. He was a member for 50 years and a past master of the Coosawattee Masonic Lodge #306 F&AM, and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church
He is survived by his two sons, Todd Sisson and his wife Dawn, Craig Sisson and his wife Holly; grandchildren, Brett (Kayla) Sisson, Taylor (Matt) Widener, Zack Sisson, Addy Sisson; great-grandchildren, Ty Sisson, Knox Widener, Jameson Sisson, Millie Widener, Cohen Widener, and Madilynn Widener.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral service will follow on Monday at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Mitch Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Chapel Cemetery.
