WORCESTER: Santos M. Salinas, 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 8 UMass Memorial Hospital after a period of illness.
He is survived by his son Mauricio Salinas and daughter-in-law Angelica of Worcester, his daughters Meiry Salinas Ventura and her husband Inmer of Worcester, and Maytee Salinas of Worcester. He also leaves behind four brothers; Carlos Antonio Salinas of Canada, Jose Roberto Salinas of El Salvador, Manuel DeJesus Salinas of Leicester, and Luis Horacio Salinas of El Salvador, a sister Maria Luz Salinas Hernandez of Worcester, and eight cherished grandchildren; Mauricio Jr., Nailea, Adriani, Inaly, Flormary, Eliezel, Ezekiel, and Marcelo. Additionally, he remained close with his former wife Maria Reyes of Worcester.
Santos was born in Tecoluca, El Salvador to Luis Alonzo and Clara (Aleman) Salinas. He dedicated 30 years as a custodian at Worcester State University before retiring. Known for his exceptional tailoring skills recognized worldwide, he found joy in his craft and spent countless hours perfecting his work on the sewing machine. Santos had a passion for travel, music, and humor.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Saturday, June 15th from 9:30-11:00 AM at Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home located at 61 Myrtle Street in Worcester where a funeral service will follow promptly at 11:00 AM. The burial will take place at Hope Cemetery in Worcester.
