Sara Ann Aksdal, 38, of Chicago, passed away suddenly on December 20th, 2023 in Chicago, Illinois.
Sara was born on February 4th, 1985 to Jennifer and Steven Aksdal in Chicago, Illinois. Sara would say her greatest accomplishment was her daughter, Jessica. Those who knew Sara closest will say she would always talk about Jessica and her accomplishments. Sara enjoyed reading, rollerblading, fishing, and horror movies along with many other activities. When Sara was younger, she was a talented gymnast and dancer. In high school, she loved ROTC and would often recite drills when she walked home from school with her sister. Neighbors remember Sara as the Roller Blading Queen, rollerblading through the neighborhood, always with a smile on her face. Sara loved spending time with her family, making them laugh, while reminiscing and making new memories.
Sara was the loving daughter of Jennifer (Villarreal) and Steven Aksdal; Amazing sister of Melissa (David) Looze; Cherished mother of Jessica Aksdal; dear granddaughter of Mary Villarreal. Sara was also the best Auntie to Vin and Chelsea Looze; niece to Mary and Sam Villarreal Junior, and Ginger Benton; and a fond cousin to many.
Sara was preceded in death by her grandfather, Raymond Aksdal, grandmother, Sue Aksdal, grandfather, Samuel Villarreal, grandmother, Joyce (Greenwald) Aksdal, and fiancé Scott Holzner.
Visitation will be held at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home 6150 North Cicero Ave., Chicago on Friday January 5th, 2024 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m.

Sara was a special person who brought her bright freindly smile where ever she went. She loved her daughter Jessica with all her heart and was very proud of her. She loved her parents they taught her to be there when a friend needed them. My thoughts and prayers are with her parents her sister and Jessica as well as the rest of the family. Sarah will be missed by many and will always be in my heart.
