Sara Marguerite Cole Brown, always known as Sally, passed away on December 14, 2025, at age 92. She was born in Trenton, NJ, on October 2, 1933.
Sally was a long-time resident of Westfield, NJ, where she was an active member of many local organizations, including Children's Specialized Hospital Friends, the Woman's Club of Westfield, the Westfield Historical Society, the Westfield Community Players, The Garden Club of Westfield, Friends of the Westfield Library, and The Junior League of Elizabeth-Plainfield. Contributing to her community and helping others was a priority for her.
Sally also lived abroad for 13 years (Belgium and England) where her grace, charm, and natural elegance made her many friends from around the world. She enjoyed travel, art, theater, the symphony, the ballet, and a good book.
Sally is predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Charles E. Brown, and four older brothers and sisters. Sally was devoted to her family and is survived by her daughter, Kerry B. Kowitt (Stephen) and son, C. Drew Brown (Merri), five grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeremiah Quinlan) and Beth (Karsten Moran) Kowitt and Emily, Cameron, and Graeme Brown. Her four great-grandchildren, Hannah, Zoe, Mina, and Elliot, always brought a smile to her face. She is also survived by her two half-brothers, Paul and Phillips Cole.
A celebration of her life is being planned in her honor.
