William H. “Bill” Covert, 81, of Westfield, NJ, passed away peacefully at home. Survived by his wife of 56 years, Susan L. Covert, his daughters, Amity Covert McGinnis & Whitney Covert Swain, his grandchildren, Blake P. Swain and May V. Swain. His grandson, Justin A. Saenz preceded him in death.
Bill was a resident of Westfield for over five decades. Bill was born in Rockville Centre, NY, an alumnus of Millburn High School, Colgate University (member of Phi Gamma Delta) and Rutgers University Law School – Newark, NJ.
Bill spent his professional career as an attorney/partner at a Labor Law firm in Newark, NJ for over 45 years. Bill's hobbies/interests included playing tennis, bridge, watching and attending Giants and Mets games, anything Shakespeare, going to the Papermill Playhouse and spending time with his friends and family. He was a member of the Corinthian Yacht Club of Cape May.
Bill was known for his infectious laugh, sense of humor and care for all people. To know Bill was to love Bill.
