Sara Purtlebaugh Obituary
Whiteland, IN. – Sara Putlebaugh, our sweet and kind 16-year-old passed away on June 17, 2025 after a hard battle with bone cancer. She was full of love and life for everyone and everything. She was passionate about music, crochet, all things birds, chickens, and marching band.
From a young age she was independent and adventurous. Always up for something new. When she discovered music and the tuba, she fell in love. And when she got her first chickens, Drumstick and Charcoal, she fell in love again.
She wanted nothing more than to help others and make them smile. She was a strong fighter that put everyone else ahead of herself.
Sara is survived by her father, Mike Purtlebaugh; mother, Stacey Beckley; Additionally, she leaves behind her grandfather, Don Purtlebaugh; grandmother and grandfather, Karen and Ron Oakes; grandfather, John T. Beckley; uncles, Jacob Beckley and John M. Beckley; aunt and uncle, Kris and John Hammer; many cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be 7 P.M. on Monday, June 23, 2025 at Jessen Funeral Home in Whiteland, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 4 P.M. until 7 P.M. on Monday, June 23, 2025 at the funeral home.

I and so sorry to hear about her passing I wish I could have come but it was a 10 hour drive and we would not have made it and I feel so bad bc Sara has been my friend since kindergarten and she was my best friend I could ever ask for when I found out I just Broke down into tears and I just wish I could get into contact with her family so I could talk to them bc they know me and I want to be there for them and to support them in anyway I can my Name is Trevor I came over to their house a lot and I helped them build the chicken coop for their chickens and Sarah used to hang out all the time we used to red skateboards together and every night I go to bed. I just keep thinking of the good memories that me and Sarah had together so I´m gonna pray tonight and from now on for Sarah and her family amen
