Sara Jane Sprouse

Sara Jane Sprouse, 76, of Washington, PA, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the UPMC Washington Hospital in Washington, PA. She was born in Wheeling, WV, May 4, 1949, a daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Detweiler Carr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlis Junior Sprouse.

Surviving are her children: Kevin Sprouse and his wife Lisa, Mannington, Arlis JR. Sprouse and his wife Lesa, Apple Creek, OH, Penny Sprouse, Martins Ferry, OH, Sherree Sprouse and her companion Gail Miller, New Freeport, WV; grandchildren: Tristian Miller, Paul Sprouse, Chevy Miller, Jeremy Miller, Tiffany Miller, Elizabeth Eddy, Joseph White, Amber Bowers, Eric White, Trent Cross, Devon Cross, Harley Sprouse, Keisha Stevens, and Christian Sprouse; several great grandchildren with a new arrival just this year; her siblings, Joseph Carr and his wife Janet, Mary Lou Canner, Linda Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.

Sara was also preceded in death by her grandchildren, Sara Eddy, Crystal Eddy, Ellen Eddy, Allen Eddy, and her siblings: John Carr, Saundra Warden, Joann Allen, Peggy Loyr, and two in infancy.

Sara enjoyed working puzzle books and watching soap operas. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the Hutson Funeral Home, 500 E. Main St., Mannington, from 11am until the time of the funeral service at 1pm, on Wednesday, February 11th, with Evangelist Craig Matheny officiating.
