Sara Delia Vega

NORWICH - Sara Delia Vega, 74, of Salinas, Puerto Rico went home to be with the Lord on March 13, 2019. Born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico on November 20, 1944 she was the daughter of the late Demetrio and Inocencia Sostre . Sara graduated from New London High School and continued her education in business in New York. Sara was a long time resident of Norwich, Connecticut before retiring to Puerto Rico. She enjoyed gardening, studying the Bible, and singing. She was an active member in her local church and was loved and respected by her family and many in her community. Sara is survived by her husband, Illuminado Vega of 52 years, her children, Brendaly Vega, Welbi Vega and wife Mary, Eaphel Vega and Millie Vega; grandchildren, Bowen A. Coburn, Sara Vega, Hannah Vega and Noah Vega, her sisters, Carmen Miller, Dorca Perez, Abigail Llanes and Maria Chumpitazi, her brothers, Isaias Sostre and Neftali Sostre and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother, Efrain Menendez. Services honoring Sara will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019 at New Life Christian Fellowship located at 1729 Center Groton Rd in Ledyard, Connecticut beginning at 10:00 am for condolences with a service at 11:00 am. Following the service, interment will be at Colonel Ledyard Cemetery in Groton, CT.
