Sarah Ann Binkley

Sarah A. Binkley, age 83, of Ashland City, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 11, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Sarah was born in Charlotte, Tennessee, on January 27, 1940, to the late Horace and Beuna (Miller) Woodard. She was a member of Highland Chapel Baptist Church and a formerly worked for the Cheatham County School System in the cafeteria at Sycamore and East Cheatham.
Sarah's love for Christ and her family was closely followed by her love for children. Just as Jesus said, "Let the children come unto me," Sarah had a passion for children. Lovingly named "Nana," Sarah selflessly cared for all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren until her health no longer allowed. Her role as Nana was definitely her favorite and extended beyond her immediate family. For many years, Sarah joyfully opened her home to care for and love many children, who grew to love and include her in all aspects of their lives. The hearts, lives, and families Sarah impacted and loved are countless. All of the precious memories will forever be cherished.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Horace and Beuna Woodard; husband, Arthur Binkley; siblings, Roger, Harry, and Lonnie Woodard, June Nevell, Paulette Jennette, Waydene Bailey and Sue Dawson. Survivors are her three sons, Tim (Penny) Binkley, Mike (Melissa) Binkley, and Scott Binkley; brother, Robert (Linda) Woodard; sisters, Johnie Louallen and Maidell Thompson; 7 grandchildren, Tiffany (Bobby) Whitt, Trevor Binkley, Trey Binkley, Jacob Binkley, Joshua Binkley, Dylan Binkley, and Lizzy Binkley; and 2 great-grandchildren, Peyton and Parker Whitt. Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Pastor Blake Stiles officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Springs Cemetery in Ashland City. Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Whitt, Jason Louallen, Trey Binkley, Logan Binkley, Caleb Binkley, and Barry Woodard. Honorary pallbearers are Peyton Whitt, Joshua Binkley, Jacob Binkley, Dylan Binkley, Kaitlen Harris, Jenna Andrews, and Braxton Batey.
