William Binkley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McMurrough Funeral Chapel - Libertyville on Feb. 28, 2026.
William Scott Binkley, 60, of Waukegan, Illinois, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 14, 2026. He lived a life defined by love, devotion, craftsmanship, and faith.

A devoted husband, father, and hardworking provider, Bill was known for his incredible work ethic, willingness to help anyone in need, and unforgettable honesty. He was a builder in every sense of the word and took great pride in using his hands to build and repair. Above all, he was a believer in Jesus Christ.

Bill was born on September 10, 1965, in Hicksville, Ohio, to Jack Doyle Binkley and Judith Ann Binkley. He graduated from Waukegan High School and later attended Northern Illinois University where he graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Bill was dedicated to his work and took pride in providing for his family. He worked as a foreman for Maneval Construction, where his knowledge and hands-on skill served him well throughout his career.

Bill found great joy in traveling the world alongside his beloved wife, Rebecca. Together, they built a life full of adventure-traveling on cruise ships, exploring new roads in a camper van, and then the skoolie he built with his own hands that carried them on unforgettable journeys with their beloved dog, Bella. Their marriage was not only a partnership but an adventure story written mile by mile.

He leaves behind his wife, Rebecca; his sons, Jonathon Binkley (Sonya) and Daniel Binkley (Jessica); his precious granddaughter, Vera, who brought him immeasurable joy; his sisters Betty Jo Spears and Wendy Loomis; his brother Bob Binkley and his step-mother Carolyn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Binkley and Judith Rimkus and his brother Brian Binkley.

He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a faithful believer, a hardworking provider, a gifted builder, and a man who loved his family with his whole heart.
