Sarah Rosetta Bowles, born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on September 1, 1947, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026, surrounded by the love she spent her life so freely giving to others.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, John and Evelyn Garner; her daughter, Jamie Glassman; her brothers, Billy Garner, Garland Garner, and John Garner Jr.; and her sisters, Shirley (Tim) Callahan, Sandy Standeford, and Debbie (William) Kimball.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Wayne Bowles Sr.; her son, Wayne Bowles Jr.; her sister, Marilyn Hargraves; and many beloved nieces and nephews, who were a constant and cherished part of her life, including her niece, Melissa (Kenny) Etter; great-nieces, Erica (Brad) Dickey and Kelsey (Jack) Dossey; and her great-great-nephews, Collin and Aiden Dickey, all of whom she loved deeply.
Sarah dedicated 38 years of her professional life to AT&T, retiring as a Senior Communications Specialist, where she was admired for her commitment and the way she treated others, as well as for the friendships she built along the way—many of which became lifelong and deeply meaningful to her.
She was a caretaker to everyone she loved, with the biggest heart and the sweetest soul you could ever meet. Selfless and giving, Sarah always put others before herself. An amazing cook, she showed her love through meals, warmth, and time spent together. She was the glue and the comfort for so many people—a steady presence whose love made others feel safe, seen, and cared for.
