Sarah Chaffier

Sarah "Sally" (Long) Chaffier, 82, of Hellertown, passed away at her home on Saturday, November 15, 2025. Born on June 30, 1943, to the late Joseph and Marie (Rogan) Long.

Sally dedicated much of her life to caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was also a member of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church in Hellertown. Married for 60 beautiful years to her beloved husband, Dr. Michael J. Chaffier, Sally took immense pride in the family they built together. She adored her children and especially cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, who were the lights of her life.

Sally is survived by her husband, Dr. Michael J. Chaffier; two sons, Nicholas (Tracy) Chaffier, and Daniel (Melissa) Chaffier; two daughters, Mary (Jason) Banonis, and Jennifer (Jeffrey) Schmehl; nine grandchildren, Michael, John, Andrew, Jack, Zachary, Sarah, Matthew, Daniel, and Christopher; two brothers, Joseph (Mary) Long, and Michael Long; a sister, Mary Stralo; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Long.

A viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 from 10-11:00 a.m. at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church, 1408 Easton Rd., Hellertown, PA 18055 with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11 a.m. inside the church. Interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
