Sarah Jane Feather

Sarah Jane (Nix) Feather, passed away from this earth on November 29, 2024 in Tahlequah, OK at the age of 86 and 10 months.
Sarah was born January 29, 1938 in Delaware County, Oklahoma. The oldest daughter of Tom and Nancy (Simon) Nix. Sarah attended school at the Seneca Indian School in Wyandotte, OK. She was a long-time resident of Beaty Creek in Jay, Oklahoma. Sarah was a member of Sycamore Springs Baptist Church.
Sarah gave her life to Christ in 1981. Although she and Ralph had been together for several years and had a family together, as children of God they wanted to do as the bible says and wed! On April 28th, 1981, they were married in Miami, OK.
Sarah had a servant's heart and loved to help people. If there was a benefit or community dinner going on, Sarah could be found cooking and serving food. She was known for her fry bread, cinnamon rolls, fruit pies and meat pies. People would line up to buy the food that she made.
Sarah enjoyed going to town to yard sales, getting her hair done, and attending ball games, hunting wishi and wild onions, or sitting drinking coffee with friends or family. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Sarah is preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Nancy Nix; her brothers Leonard, Leo, and Alfred; her sisters Ida Mae (Nix) Tanner, baby sister Carolyn Ann Nix, and her Aunt Alvie Kingfisher.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years Ralph Feather of the home; daughter Linda and husband Jim Reno of Jay, OK; Son Ralph Feather, JR and wife Karen of Jay, OK and son Jamie Feather of the home; Her sisters Meda Nix of Tahlequah, OK, Melba Cate of Jay, OK, and Peggy Masters of Jay, OK; 11 Grandchildren, Jeremy Reno, Jyme Lynn and husband Heath Johnston, J.C. Reno and wife Lacy Jo, Cody Feather, Wasey Feather, Cheyenne Feather, Dakota Feather, Jeremiah Feather, Holly Nix, Briar Feather and Ezren Lee Wilson Feather; 10 Great-Grandchildren Ryan Poindexter, Rayker Johnston, Kadyn Johnston, Rainey Feather, Neveah Feather, Dayton Feather, Juriah Feather,
Serenity Feather, Reece Reno, and Reid Reno. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Sarah's Celebration of Life Family Visitation to greet friends will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 6:00-8:00pm at Lawson's Funeral Homes & Cremation Services Chapel, 311 W. Gray St. Jay, OK 74346.
Sarah's Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Friday, 1:00pm, December 6, 2024 at Mount Hermon Church, 42040 S. 670 RD, Jay, OK 74346 with Pastor Duke Pickup officiating. Followed her Funeral Procession to Round Springs Cemetery in Eucha, OK.
Sarah's burial will be at Round Springs Cemetery in Eucha, OK.
