Sarah Handy Obituary
Sarah Grace Handy, a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and friend, passed away on February 9, 2024, at the age of 17. Born on July 6, 2006, Sarah brought joy and love into the lives of all who knew her. Her warm smile and kind heart will be deeply missed. Sarah had a passion for sports and was a dedicated fan of both the Washington Capitals and the Pittsburgh Steelers. She loved cheering them on with her friends and family, creating lasting memories and celebrating victories together. Sarah's love for sports extended beyond being a spectator; she also enjoyed participating in competitive cheerleading, and also competing as a mainstream racer with Athletes Serving Athletes.
Sarah is survived by her loving parents, Patrick and Dena Handy; her sisters, Kaitlyn and Hope Handy; her grandparents, William and Katherine Handy, Paul and Cynthia Denton; her uncles, William Handy (Courtney) and their son, Liam; Kenneth Handy (Megan) and their daughter, Sloane; Paul Denton (Leslie) and their children, Paul, Robert and Stephanie; her aunts, Theresa Shenton (Doug) and their children, Douglas and Monica; Leann Weaver (Aaron) and their children, Michael, Joshua and Kadance.
To honor Sarah's memory and celebrate her remarkable life, visitation services will be held at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, 1 2nd Ave SW in Glen Burnie on Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Friends and family are welcome to come together, share stories, and support one another during this difficult time. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 19, 2024, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Glen Burnie at 10 AM. Interment to follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
As we say goodbye to Sarah, let us remember her vibrant spirit and the impact she had on each of our lives. She may be gone from our sight but never from our hearts. Rest in peace, dear Sarah. You will forever be missed and loved.
