Sarah S. Heimbach

Sarah S. Heimbach 97, formerly of Montandon passed away on September 8, 2025 at Watsontown Nursing and Rehab Center. Born in Milton on December 15, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Carl G. and Harriet L. (Reilley) Stitely. She was married to Carl R. Heimbach who preceded her in death in 1993.
Sarah graduated from Milton High School. She worked as an operator for Bell Telephone, as a switchboard operator at Chef Boyardee, as a teacher's aide at Lincoln St. School, and at Lewisburg, and as the church secretary at Bethany United Methodist Church. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and she sung in the choir. She was an avid reader and loved a good mystery. She enjoyed poetry and loved music. She liked to go see barbershop quartets. She also liked the outdoors and all animals, especially her great grand kitty, Buster.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Sarah M. Heimbach of New York.
Sarah was also preceded in death by a son, David Heimbach; two daughters, Carla Heimbach, and Karen Heimbach; four brothers, Thomas Stitely, Lloyd "Bud" Stitely, Frank Major" Stitely, and Michael Stitely; and two sisters, Ruth "Ducky" Miller, and Miriam "Pink" Price.
Friends and relatives will be received from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16 at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Brian Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery.
