Mrs. Sarah Helen (Hicks) Brown, age 85 of Knoxville, formerly of LaFollette, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026. Mrs. Brown worked for a national accounting firm before starting her own accounting firm, which she held for 30+ years. She was a graduate from Wright State University with a degree in history. She loved watching her grandchildren on the farm as well as the chickens and cows. She was well known for her generosity and her love and loyalty to her family. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James Roland Brown; parents David Hicks and Nancy Jane (Scott) Hicks; brothers Jesse, James, Oscar, John, George, Jerry, David, and Ken Hicks; and sisters, Lucinda Vermillion Wright, Vergie Klein, and Julia Randall.
She is survived by her son, Alex Brown, his wife Jeannine, two grandchildren, George and Harrison Brown, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Walters Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM with Rev Zach Lloyd officiating. Interment will follow at Hicks Cemetery.
