Sarah A. Holcomb, 76, of Cullman, Alabama, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022. Sarah was born October 14, 1945, in Cullman County, to Winford and Avillar Hooper Denney.
Mrs. Holcomb was a faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church. She served as a Sunday School teacher and helped often in Vacation Bible School. Sarah loved her church, and her church family, dearly. She loved to study God’s Word and enjoyed worshiping with her family and friends. Mrs. Holcomb worked as a bookkeeper, and her love for flowers led her to work for Chambers’ Flower Shop, in Holly Pond, for many years. Sarah’s flower gardens at home were immaculate. She was a wonderful wife to her husband, Alfred, for sixty years. She was also an amazing grandmother and great-grandmother. Sarah was actively caring for those she loved just days before her passing. While there is sorrow in Sarah’s passing, there is also joy in knowing that she is now in the presence of her Savior.
Mrs. Holcomb is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cynthia Holcomb Black; brother, William Denney; sisters, Laura Daniel, Edna Brock; and great-grandchildren, Samuel Whittle, and Ethan Whittle.
