Sarah Jane “Sally” (Wheatley) Kotch passed peacefully to the embrace of Our Lord Jesus on Saturday June 7, 2025. Sally was born to the late Gertrude M (Conley) and George N Wheatley on July 22, 1932 in Pittsburgh, PA. Sally was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 72 years John D “Danny” Kotch, her brother Lloyd R “Pete” Acker, her sister Diann R (Acker) Jenkins, and her granddaughter Elizabeth “Lizzy” Frederick. She is survived by her brother Conrad J Acker, her children George (Kimberly) Kotch, Elaine (Mark) Fatla, Stacey (Cas) Trap, Danette (Randy) Frederick and her “honorary daughter” Beverly (Jerry) Mote, her grandchildren Matthew, Andrew, Allison, Zachary, Megan, Tyler, Jesse, Will, Claire, Elise, Chandler, and great-grandchildren Hudson, Harper, and Isabelle.
Sally’s life was a testament to love, faith, and generosity. She was an active member of the St. Lawrence O’Toole church in Garfield where she was a member of the choir. When her eldest daughter wished to join the Girl Scouts there was no leader for the local troop so Sally became the leader of Troop 1309 at St. Lawrence and continued until the family moved to Allison Park in 1971.
After moving she renewed her concentration on home and family. Sally's garden, always vibrant and meticulously cared for, became a symbol of her nurturing spirit. She found joy in cultivating beauty in both nature and human connection. Her warmth and kindness extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of neighbors, friends, and strangers alike.
We will all miss her but take comfort in knowing that she is in a better place, reunited with loved ones, waiting to greet us upon our arrival.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Bock Funeral Home, Ltd., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Glenshaw, on Thursday at 10:30 AM. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.
