Sarah Ann Johnson, a loving grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin, and dear friend, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, in McCalla, Alabama.
Sarah was the heart of her family and community - a true caregiver in every sense. She was always the first to lend a hand, offer a kind word, or cook up a comforting meal. No one ever left her home hungry, and no visit was complete without her asking, "Is there anything I can do for you?" Her selflessness and warmth touched everyone who knew her.
Sarah is survived by her granddaughter Shelly McCombs (Jason), her beloved great-granddaughters Claire Smith and Emily Smith, her cousin Lila Brown (Neal), and cherished friends Peggy Morrison, Bill Morrison, and Rusty Hill. She was preceded in death by her parents Macon and Lesta Perry, brother Tommy Perry, daughter Rita Johnson, uncle Hubert Fry and his wife Elaine, and Reese Fry and his wife Dorthy.
A devoted Baptist Christian, Sarah found great joy and strength in her faith and was a faithful member of McCalla Baptist Church. She loved everything about the Lord and lived her life as a reflection of His love - with kindness, compassion, and grace.
Sarah had a remarkable green thumb and could grow just about anything that took root. Her garden was always full of life - much like her home, which overflowed with laughter, love, and the smell of something good cooking.
Above all, she adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought endless joy to her life.
Sarah Ann Johnson will be remembered for her generous heart, unwavering faith, and the comfort she gave to everyone who had the blessing of knowing her.
