We are heartbroken to share the news of the passing of our sister Sarah M. Lareau, 65. She passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025 in Pascoag, RI.
Born in Woonsocket she was the daughter of the late Francis L. Lareau and Mary Jane (Smith) Lareau of Narragansett. Sarah grew up in Union Village and graduated from North Smithfield High School in 1977. After graduating she pursued a career as a travel agent, working for Hope Travel.
When Sarah was 21, she was involved in a life altering automobile accident resulting in a traumatic brain injury. As a long-term patient at Zambarano Hospital Sarah received extraordinary care from her Zambarano family, through many ups and downs. The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses, therapists and aides who cared for Sarah with empathy and a good dose of humor. A special thank you to Kristen, who for many years, was both an advocate for and a friend to Sarah.
Sarah is survived by her brother Michael P. Lareau and his wife Suzanne of Narragansett, her sister Susan K. Lareau of South Kingstown, her niece Jennifer Erickson of Lincoln and nephew Jacob Lareau of Barrington. She was predeceased by her brother Francis L. Lareau Jr. She also leaves behind her devoted friends Louise, Marie and Ricky. We will forever carry a memory of Sarah in our hearts.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her VISITATION on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 10-11am in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory - SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road, (Rt. 1A), Narragansett. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Animal Rescue RI, PO Box 458, Wakefield, RI 02879.
