Sarah Meads Obituary
Faye enjoyed doing crafts, traveling, spending time with her family, and baking. She baked many cakes and pies over the years but was locally famous for her chocolate layer cake.
Faye is survived by two daughters, Dawn Gregory and husband, Dan, of Elizabeth City, NC, and Jennifer Meads, also of Elizabeth City, NC; a son, Talmadge Meads, Jr. and wife, Darlene, of Hertford, NC; a sister, Ellen Eley (Sid) of Hertford, NC; two brothers, John Elmer Wood III and wife, Lynn, of Richmond, VA and Tim Wood and wife, Donna, also of Richmond, VA; and five grandchildren, Maitlyn Henne (David), Madisyn Gregory, Eli Gregory, Matthew Meads, and Mitchel Meads.
A funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Twiford Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Toni Wood officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Meads Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Woodland Pathway Community Church General Fund, 453 Woodland Church Road, Hertford, NC 27944.
A special thanks to her caregivers at home, Sharon Weitzel, Becky Spivey, and Michelle Blanchard. Also, thanks to Albemarle Home Care and Hospice and Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation for their care.
