SARAH SMITH Obituary
Sarah A. Smith, 84, of Boonsboro, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Doey's House of Hagerstown.
Born on August 11, 1939, in Columbia, VA, she was the daughter of the late Ellen (Beard) and Robert Proffitt.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Wayne Smith, Sr., and her son, Donald Wayne Smith, Jr. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Robert, James and Claude Proffitt, and Sisters, Ellen Smith and Deborah Hydro.
She spent her life as a homemaker. She loved spending time reading, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her brother, Douglas Proffitt and wife, Debbie of Rockville, MD; and Brother Kenneth Proffitt of Rockville, MD.
She is also survived by her Son, Richard Smith, Sr. and wife Rhonda of Hagerstown; Son, John Smith of Smithsburg; a daughter, Cathy Stull-Rough and husband Jeff Rough of Hagerstown. Grandsons, Richard Smith, Jr. of Owings Mill, Md, Michael Smith and wife Crystal of Hagerstown, Matthew Smith of Waynesboro, PA, Timothy Smith of Frederick, MD, Granddaughters, Jessica Smith of Hagerstown, MD, Ashley Stull of Hagerstown, MD, Sarah Stull of Waynesboro, PA; Great Grandchildren, Aaron Smith, Klara Holbrunner, Hailee Smith, Camden Smith, Jade Smith and Jace Smith.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
