David (Dave) Brendell Bowers, of Waynesboro, PA passed away at York Hospital surrounded by his family, on February 26,2026, at the age of 60.

He was the son of Robert L Bowers and Geraldine M Keeney Bowers, born April 30, 1965, in Gettysburg, PA.

He was part of the Catoctin High School class of 1983. He served in the United States Army from 1982 through 1999, serving in Germany for 4 years, two tours in Korea, and missions to Bosnia and Haiti. He was the recipient of multiple Commendation, Achievement, Humanitarian and Good Conduct Medals throughout his military career. He and his wife, Terri, formed Sunshine Solar Signs LLC in 2018, providing a signpost service to realtors throughout the tri state area.

Dave genuinely loved his family, enjoying gatherings, reunions, and vacations. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved teaching the next generation. He spent summers canoeing on the Monocacy River, with longtime friends and family. He was a member of Head Bones Deer Camp, hunting and four-wheel riding in Webster Springs, WV, where he spent priceless time with his brothers, sons and forever friends.

Dave is survived by his wife and best friend, Terri Bowers, whom he married in 2010. Two sons, Brandon Bowers & Shawn Bowers. Four stepsons and daughters-in-law, Jason & Sarah Phebus, Wesley & Casey Phebus, Blaine & Shaelyn Phebus, and Clayton Phebus & Partner Jessica Orr. He is blessed with 16 grandchildren and 1great granddaughter, whom he loved dearly. Two brothers, Robert Bowers and wife Pamela Bowers; Joseph Bowers and partner Jennifer Clark; Special cousins Penny & Charles Eakin.

He will be missed by his 4-legged companion, Derby, who has been by his side for 8 years.

He preceded in death by both his parents, Robert & Geraldine Bowers, Grandparents, Joseph & Alice Bowers, Walter & Jessie Keeney, as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Antietam Humane Society or St Judes, who were both close to his heart.

A celebration of life will be held on March 29, 2026, 2:00 pm at the Thurmont Event Complex on 13716 Stafford Dr, Thurmont, MD.
