Sarah Ruth Thrift

Ms. Sarah Ruth Thrift, 74, peacefully passed away Wednesday (September 14, 2022) at Waycross Health and Rehabilitation in Waycross, GA.
Ms. Thrift was born February 22, 1948 in Ware County to Brantley Eugene and Ruby Melton Thrift, and was raised and lived in Waycross all of her life. She worked countless years as an LPN nurse until her health led her into retirement. Her greatest joy in life was being a mom to her four children, and later being a nana to all her grandchildren. She had a love for Ford cars and was a huge NASCAR racing fan, she loved watching the races with her favorite driver being Bill Elliott. Her favorite pastime was crocheting and making many blankets for her family.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two of her siblings, Wilma Ruby Thrift Crews and Larry G. Thrift; her beloved son, Terry Eugene Rouse; and a granddaughter, Savannah Victoria Curry.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry Marvin Rouse and Barry Shannon Rouse, Sr. (wife Debbie) of Patterson, GA and one daughter, Angel Chasity Sapp of Waycross. She was Nana to seven granddaughters, Elizabeth Hardage of Atlanta, Jennie Meadows Flavell of Leesville, SC, Taylor Rouse Smith, Heaven Quinn, and Journey Beverly of Waycross, Summer Rouse Rawlins, and Kimber Rouse of Patterson. Eight grandsons, Barry Shannon Rouse, Jr., Terry Henderson, Bo Rouse, Denver Sapp, and Lone Sapp all of Waycross, Jedediah Rouse of Vidalia, GA, Noah Hart of Patterson, and Jacob Hart of Baxley; 10 great grandchildren; one brother, Brantley L. Thrift (wife Lynn) of Waycross; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday (September 19, 2022) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. The family will begin receiving friends at the funeral home on Monday at 2:00 p.m.
