WORCESTER-Sarkis Markarian, Jr., 76, passed away Wednesday, June 1st at home after a short illness.
Sarkis was born in Worcester a son of Sarkis and Mary (Gananian) Markarian. He graduated from Commerce High School. Sarkis worked for many years as a hairdresser and recently retired from Sebouh Hair Fashions and Skin in Worcester. He was a member of the Armenian Church of Our Saviour. Besides spending time with his family Sarkis enjoyed a good chat, he always made you feel special. He also enjoyed going to the Goldstar Restaurant for breakfast, grocery shopping and Sunday night suppers at the Soojian's.
Sarkis leaves his beloved nieces and nephews, Donna Mooradian and her husband Arthur of Worcester, Gilbert Markarian, Jr. and his wife Mary Ann of Sugar Land, TX, Diane Markarian of Worcester Debra Markarian of Worcester and Gary Markarian of Atlantic City, NJ; great nephew and great niece, Matthew Markarian and Elizabeth Markarian of Sugar Land, TX. He was predeceased by his brothers, Gilbert Markarian, Sr. and his wife Florence and Edward Markarian and his wife Gladys.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, June 4th from10:00 until 11:00 am at Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury St. His Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am in the church. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury St., Worcester, MA 01609. Arrangements are in the care of CALLAHAN FAY & CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St.

I will miss you Sarkis...you were always a class act..dressed to a T...and a lovely conversationalist...having known you for over 55 years, I can boast that you were always a true gentlman..and a great hair stylist when woman really had hair styles. I will miss you, Mr.Sarkis.
