Satnam Singh Obituary

Visit the Lindquist Mortuary - Ogden website to view the full obituary.
Satnam Singh was born, in God's hands, on January 10, 1956, in Jassowal, Punjab, India. He passed away, in God's hands, on February 28, 2021. Satnam and his family immigrated to the United States of America in 1987. In 2000 Satnam purchased the Super Grocery in Ogden, UT. He owned and operated the store for the past 21 years. He was a beloved pillar of the community. This legacy came from a lifetime of faith and love.

Satnam's faith taught him to work hard. Everything he did was done with honest hard work. He was taught to spend time in prayer each day. He was taught to share with those in need. Everything he had even if it was just a little, he shared with others. He was taught the importance of family; staying with his family, caring for his family, teaching his family, and helping his family.

Satnam lived these teaching in his daily life. He worked hard and would often open his store early and stay late into the evening. He spent time in prayer every day. He never missed an opportunity to pray. He gave help to those in need. There are so many people who have shared how Satnam would give them food, give them a discount, or help them out in any way he could. He was all about his family.

Satnam loved his family very much. His children lovingly refer to him as Professor Singh. He knew so much about his country, his faith, and the history of his family. He loved to talk about and teach these things to his children. Satnam also loved to learn. He even learned how to use a smart phone, so he could take pictures and text his family. He learned how to use You Tube and loved to watch You Tube videos. Everywhere he went, he always had a You Tube video with him. Satnam's family loved him very much and loved cooking for him.

Satnam's father Malkit Singh and his mother Swarn Kaur passed away, in God's hands, before him. He is survived by his wife: Rashpal Kaur, his daughters: Tajinder Kaur, Amandeep Kaur, and Bhavjeet Kaur, his brothers: Gurnam Singh, and Devinder Singh and his sisters: Surinder Kaur, Joginder Kaur, and Dalveer Kaur.

Friends may visit with family on Friday, March 05, 2021 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. For the love and safety of the family we ask that all who attend to please wear a mask and please refrain from hugging and other physical contact with the family. In honor of the deceased's traditions and faith we also ask that all in attendance wear a head covering such as a hat or a scarf during the viewing. Private family only services will be held on Saturday.

Thank you everyone for your generosity and support. In lieu of flowers or donations please help someone who is less fortunate. Sharing what he had with those in need was very important to Satnam. It would be a great honor to him if others in need were taken care of.

Sat was a good guy. He took the time to learn everyone's name, and always greeted us with a smile and a friendly "Hello". He was a friend to all. I will miss him, very much...

They say some people come and go just like the wind. While others come and leave a footprint on us forever. You my friend would be that someone. I will miss you so much. You have taught me many things and shared so much kindness with me and my family. Even allowing me to be part of yours. I thank you and love you and am going to miss you immensely. May you be at peace sat. Love always your friend, Rhonda

Mr. Singh watched my 3 children grow up, but he was especially fond of my oldest son. He always asked about my son and he always told me "he's a good boy. Hard worker." Every time I walked into the store, I was always greeted with "Awe! There's my friend!" My kids and I lived him very much. We miss him greatly already. We will remember him always and fondly. Thank you for sharing this great man with our community.
