Saundra Kay Moreland, 84, of Taylorville, IL, passed away at Taylorville Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. She was born on December 21, 1940, to the late Lloyd and Lorene (Hoffman) Brown. On September 16, 1962, she married Ron Moreland at the Vandalia Baptist Church, and he survives.

Saundra worked as beautician at Bresmers for several years and went on to open her own beauty shop in her home. She enjoyed the time she spent with her clients and loved making others feel their best. She had a big heart for animals and loved her pets, especially Fifi. In her spare time, Saundra was a talented gardener and found much joy while tending to her yard and garden. Above all, she loved spending time with her family. She had an infectious smile and was loved immensely by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband: Ron Moreland Sr. of Taylorville, IL; son: Ron (Erika) Moreland of Taylorville, IL; daughter: Stephanie (Tony) Lowe of Columbus, GA; grandchild; Dariess Moreland of Taylorville; sister: Nina (Max) Branum of Edinburg, IL; sister-in-law: Vivian Fadden of Springfield, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Saundra was welcomed into heaven by her parents and three grandchildren, Mackenzie Moreland, Katie Coval, and Andrew Gatton.

A visitation will be held at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
