It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Savitri Ramakrishnan, who left us peacefully on Tuesday, May 20th, 2025 surrounded by family.
Born 89 years ago, Savitri was a beacon of love and kindness, an inspiration to all, and one of the bravest people you could ever meet. She dedicated her life to her family, always putting their needs before her own. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support were the foundation upon which her family thrived.
Savitri survived her husband, Ram, who left us last June, and she has missed her life partner of 72 years more than anyone can imagine. Their marriage and relationship was magical, and even though she never recovered from her grief with this loss of an amazing human, her Raja, she continued to light up the world around her with her ever radiant and contagious smile.
As a mother, Savitri was a source of wisdom and guidance. She taught her children the values of compassion, resilience, and integrity. Her love was unconditional, and her presence was a constant source of comfort and strength. She insisted that her three daughters prioritize their education, be adventurous, independent, and self-sufficient. As a grandmother and great-grandmother, Savitri brought joy and laughter to her grandchildren's lives. Her stories, hugs, and gentle words will forever be cherished. Her sublime cooking skills will also be deeply missed.
Savitri was a role model in being curious and learning constantly. As a teenager, she taught herself English and Hindi, and later in life continued this quest for knowledge by learning Spanish and Latin. Tennis was one of her biggest passions, and she could recall stats, grand slam details, and trivia like no other.
She is survived by her loving family, including her three daughters: Raji (Ananth), Shanti (Chandru) and Geeta (Govi), as well as her six grandchildren: Anjali (Atul), Arjun, Nikhil, Nina,Natasha, and Navin, and two great-grandchildren: Krish and Niam. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
The funeral puja will be held Saturday, May 24, 2025 from 9-11am at Franklin Memorial Park. Franklin Memorial Park is located at 1800 Route 27 in North Brunswick, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to
Arthritis Foundation, Inc. in her honor.
May Savitri rest in peace, and may her spirit continue to guide and comfort her loved ones.
