Savoy Byrd Obituary
Savoy Byrd, 79, of Wooster, died Sunday January 8, 2023, at Brookdale Senior Living, in Wooster.
Savoy was born August 10, 1943, in Valdosta, Georgia to Jesse Byrd Sr. and Annabell {Adams} Byrd.
He worked at Rubbermaid for 40 years. He attended the Second Baptist Church when he was young. He liked to play golf, shooting pool, and hung out at the Wooster Community Center almost every day.
Savoy will be deeply missed by his brother Jesse Byrd Jr. of Wooster; sister Anita (Alvin) Thomas of Texas; nephews Cory Thomas, Jesse (Nish) Byrd III, Jayson Byrd; neices Carmen (Quintus) Fields, Jessica (Mateo) M Byrd Perez, Tasha (Sal) Maravilgia, Carie Thomas; and many relatives in Cleveland.
Savoy was preceded in death by his grandmother Pearl Morrison; his parents, brothers Lafayette Byrd, Mike Byrd; and sister Linda Byrd.
Friends may call Friday from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Second Baptist Church Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the church with Pastor Ricky Brown officiating. Roberts Funeral Home Sherwood Chapel-Wooster is assisting with arrangements. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
