Sawyer Michael Kuljis, age 17, of Biloxi, MS passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 in New Orleans, LA after a courageous fight against cancer. He was born July 31, 2007 in Biloxi to Tina LeBatard Kuljis and Michael Kuljis.
Sawyer attended Biloxi High, where he was working hard to complete his senior year at home to graduate in May. He had a great love for the outdoors, hunting and fishing with his friends and family, building fires, and putting his truck through mud. Sawyer genuinely enjoyed life. He had a way of making every person in front of him feel like they were the most important. He spent the last 10 months making sure his friends and family, most importantly, his sisters and his nieces had many memories to forever cherish. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Tina Kuljis and her husband, Adam Spikes; father, Michael Kuljis and partner, Angela Jones; sisters, Skylar LeBatard (Eric Nicholson) and Sophia Kuljis; nieces, Evelyn and Ellis Nicholson; grandparents, Ernie and Susan LeBatard and Steve and Diane Kuljis; and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Friends are invited to visit from 12 pm to 2 pm. Interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the medical team at the Children’s Hospital of New Orleans who truly became Tina and Sawyer’s family.
