Scott Paul Barnett, age 63 of Bremen, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2026. Born in Steubenville, Ohio, on May 27, 1962, he was the son of Louise Taggart Barnett and John D. Barnett. Scott is preceded in death by his sister, Lynnelle Barnett and his brother John W. Barnett.
For many years, Scott worked in construction. He loved to talk and never met a stranger. A devoted grandfather, he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren who lovingly called him "Pap." Scott's four legged friend, Piggy, was his constant companion. Not a day went by without Scott thanking his Lord and Savior, Jesus, and telling you how much he loved God. Now resting in the arms of Jesus, his pain is no more.
Left to cherish his memories are his children and their spouses, his daughter, Jessica & Joseph Upton, and his son, Jarred & Stephanie Taylor; his precious grandchildren: Cole Jones, Lila Taylor and Laney Taylor; his mother Louise Barnett and father John Barnett. Also surviving are his sister, Kelly Barnett Bibb; his brother, Michael P. Barnett; his nieces, Jovanna Longo Bearden, Sara Longo, Michelle Longo, Emma Bibb, Taylor Longo, and Christi Boyer; and his nephews, Joseph M. Longo, Mason Longo, and Michael Barnett.
Scott will be cremated and his remains will be will be taken to Ohio for a celebration of life.
