Scott K. Bohr, 64, of Quakertown, passed away suddenly on September 29, 2025. He was born in Rockford, IL on December 28, 1960 to Karin (Malm) Bohr and the late Kendall Bohr. Scott was the loving husband of Rosemary Orletzkiy for the past 14 years. He enjoyed playing golf and boccie ball, watching the Red Sox, and always cheered on the Packers (Go Pack Go!). Scott was a joyous participant in the Bucks County Choral Society, and he will be fondly remembered as the pastor of The Presbyterian Church of Harmony in Phillipsburg, NJ. Most of what follows is from his church biography.
Before becoming an ordained Presbyterian Pastor, he was a music and youth minister for 12 years in California, Washington, and Pennsylvania. His enthusiastic and passionate approach to leadership and gifts for worship and music led him to an awareness of God's even larger call on his life and eventually to seminary in 1990.
During his time in the San Francisco Bay area Scott felt God's reminder of the commitment he made years earlier to serve the Lord. While in California, Scott recommitted his life to Christ and began again to use his deep love of the Lord and of people, starting with Menlo Park Presbyterian Church's music and youth ministries.
Scott began full time ministry as the Minister of Music at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Yakima, Washington. He also served as an assistant youth minister while on staff at WPC. The call to ordained ministry was still forming but the gifts were present. A change in leadership and structure at WPC necessitated Scott and his family to relocate to the east coast in December 1989. He was a stay at home father for several months (daughter Karin was two and daughter Allison was eight months at the time) as God worked on his heart and prepared him for seminary even though he had enrolled in graduate school at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, his alma mater. God's plan was different and in September 1990, Scott began seminary at Eastern Seminary in Philadelphia. At this time he also became the Executive Director of the Summer Evangelic Committee, one of the oldest ongoing evangelistic outreaches in the United States. In addition while in seminary and serving as the SEC's Executive Director, Scott served as Director of Music for Eastern Seminary as Music and Youth Director at 1st Presbyterian Church in Willow Grove, and also led retreats and workshops on music and youth ministry.
God's calling led Scott to travel extensively throughout the United States and around the world, including Western Europe, Brazil, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Russia, Nigeria and Ukraine. He was called frequently to speak for youth retreats, teach at leadership training events, and facilitate church planning and goal setting for church boards. He has also worked on his PhD at the Oxford Graduate School affiliated with Oxford University in England.
Scott is survived by his wife Rosemary; mother Karin; daughters Karin Fortwangler (Adam) and Alison Bohr (Adam); 5 grandchildren; brothers Christopher Bohr (Dawna) and Matthew Bohr (Charlotte); nieces; nephews; and many other loving family and friends.
All are invited on Saturday, October 18 to The Presbyterian Church of Harmony, 2727 Belvidere Rd., Phillipsburg, NJ 08865 for a memorial service at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Scott's memory can be made to the church at the address above.
