Scott Hall Colvin, 63, passed away on July 29, 2025, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Born on
November 9, 1961, in Escondido, California, Scott lived a life marked by creativity, compassion,
and a deep commitment to helping others.
Raised in a Navy family, Scott experienced life across the United States as his family moved
from one duty station to another. This nomadic upbringing instilled in him a love for adventure
and an openness to new experiences that remained with him throughout his life. No matter
where he was or what challenges he faced, Scott was known for his ever-present smile and
positive attitude.
Scott's educational journey reflected his passion for the arts and learning. He earned an
Associate's Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield in May 1982 and went on to
attend the University of Alaska-Fairbanks for two years. He later completed his Bachelor's
Degree in Theatrical Production at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in May 1992. His
academic pursuits laid the foundation for a lifelong involvement in theater and creative
expression.
On June 25, 1988, Scott married Mary Fons in New Berlin, Wisconsin. Their partnership was one
of deep love and shared purpose. Together they raised their son Christopher Colvin and built a
life centered around family, service, and creativity.
A gifted artist and craftsman, Scott brought beauty into the world through many forms. He
created intricate bird feeders and houses, painted vibrant works of art, and designed sets and
lighting for local plays-each project reflecting his eye for detail and love of storytelling. His
creativity extended into everyday life as well; he found joy in coloring books, completing word
and picture searches, and cooking meals that brought people together.
Scott had a deep love for animals and dedicated nearly two decades to running a farm animal
rescue. Over 19 years, he cared for llamas, alpacas, goats, chickens, roosters, ducks,
rabbits-and countless other creatures who found sanctuary under his care. His compassion
knew no bounds.
He also gave generously of his time to causes close to his heart. He mentored young men with
patience and encouragement; volunteered with Habitat for Humanity; helped feed
schoolchildren in Buena Vista on weekends; and lent his talents behind the scenes of
community theater productions. Whether building homes or building confidence in others,
Scott made a lasting impact wherever he went.
Among Scott's many passions was classic cars-especially restored models from bygone eras.
One of his dreams was to restore a 1953 Chevy Pickup truck-a goal that spoke to both his
appreciation for craftsmanship and his nostalgic spirit.

Scott is survived by his beloved wife Mary Fons-Colvin; son Christopher Colvin; honorary son
Ethan Moffitt, brothers Greg Colvin and Hal Colvin; sisters Lisa Colvin (Mary Grinnell), Beth
Colvin, and Johanna (Byron) Christensen; step mother Judy Colvin; four nieces; four nephews; three great-nieces; three
great-nephews; and two cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents Allice Colvin and
Robert Colvin.
Scott Hall Colvin leaves behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, service, and joy. May his
memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire acts of generosity and
love. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 8, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Holt
