LOWA CITY - Scott Edward Corry passed away peacefully in Iowa City, Iowa in the early morning hours of April 4, 2025, of natural causes.
Scott was born March 28, 1946, in Galion, Ohio to Robert M. Corry and Isabel Gledhill Corry, and an older brother Robert J. Corry. Scott graduated from Galion High School in 1964 and attended Ohio Wesleyan University and the University of Toledo.
Scott was employed with the City of Toledo Department of Transportation for approximately ten years, then in 1987 moved to Iowa City, Iowa, and worked at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Housekeeping Department, and at Dillard's Department Store.
Scott was involved with the Iowa City community through St. Mary's Catholic Church in Iowa City, as well as through Reach for Your Potential, Inc. of Iowa City. Scott enjoyed classic movies, antiques, fine dining, politics, family history, and literature.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents and brother. He is survived by two nieces, Sara and Catherine, and a nephew, Robert Jr., and six grand-nieces and two grandnephews.
Memorial services will be held on 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City, Iowa 52240. Internment of remains and dedication of monument will be alongside Scott's parents, brother, and other relatives at the Gledhill Family Cemetery in Galion, Ohio, approximately June 2025, date to be determined and arranged through Snyder Funeral Home in Galion.
