Scott David Johnson Pastor Scott David Johnson, 64, of Newton, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023 at his residence.

He was born April 13, 1959 in Eau Claire, WI to the late LeRoy and Barbara Bartholomew Johnson. Scott was the pastor at St. John's Lutheran Church in Conover and enjoyed fishing, traveling, and playing Santa. He was known as the "trouble maker" at WNNC.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant, unborn children.

Those left to cherish his memory are; wife of 38 years: Denise Bradtmueller of the home; sons: David Johnson and wife Ashley of LaHabre, CA, Devin Johnson of Hickory, Chance Johnson and wife Cheyenne of Valdese; daughters: Suzanne Zastrow and husband Michael of Winona, MN, Joanna Lee and husband Richard of Perry, IA, Mary Zerbe and husband Stephen of Kernersville; brothers: Jeff Johnson of Eau Claire, WI, Kevin Johnson and wife Teresa Johnson of Eau Claire, WI; sisters: Lee Kleist and husband Rick of Eau Claire, WI, Sue Fisher and husband Tim of Eau Claire, WI; grandchildren: Janna Lee, Leopold Lee, Micah Johnson, Olivia Hubbard and unborn baby Johnson.

A service to celebrate Scott's life will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 12:00 noon at St. John's Lutheran Church in Conover. Rev. Anton Lagoutine and Rev. Luke Self will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 24, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 25, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church. In memory of Pastor Scott, the family requests everyone to wear a Hawaiian shirt. A covered dish meal will follow the service for anyone interested.

Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Teen Camp, Sharing Center, or Building Bridges, 2126 St. Johns Church Rd. NE, Conover, NC 28613
